Jose Alejandro Plata is an artist and designer currently based between Colombia and Barcelona.

His practice spans CGI, visuals, graphic design, illustration, animation, XR, installations, systems development, and sound. With a focus on experimentation, noise, abstraction, real-time technologies, worldbuilding and performance, he collaborates with cultural institutions, artists, and brands to create immersive experiences, evocative storytelling, and sculptural objects.

His work explores reality and simulation, weaving physical media and technology. Influenced by his homeland and rooted in Latin American folklore, his inspirations include oral tradition and cultural expression, material processes, ecology, and the local vernacular.
